It has been revealed that some pastors of the Methodist Church have had their services terminated for engaging in extra-marital affairs.

The church’s outgoing president, the Rev Ili Vunisuwai, confirmed receiving complaints of pastors involved in such affairs.

Mr Vunisuwai said the church dealt with the issue on a case-by-case basis.

“These complaints were lodged at the Methodist Church headquarters in Suva,” he said.

“We have a policy in place in regard to this. There is no fuss about it.”

Mr Vunisuwai said the church was against marital affairs because biblical principles forbade it.

“I stand by my word that holy living is an important part for our denomination,” he said.

He added there was a process involved for the church when it received complaints of pastors having marital affairs.
