The China Chamber of Commerce in Fiji has assisted the Fiji Red Cross Society(FRCS) in order to carry out relief works to those affected by Severe Tropical Cyclone Yasa.
The Chamber donated $20,000 to FRCS this morning.
Chamber representative Song Tianpeng said the category five tropical cyclone “Yasa” had hit Fiji, causing casualties and significant property damage, and seriously affecting the local economy, society and people’s life, especially in Vanua Island, the northeastern part of Fiji’s main island Viti Levu and the surrounding small islands.
“In order to help the people in the affected areas in Fiji to overcome the difficulties as soon as possible, we, China Chamber of Commerce in Fiji, decided to donate 20,000 Fijian dollars to Fiji Red Cross,” he said.
