A prestigious order of merit has been bestowed upon Chef Philippe Garand, culinary director of Holiday Inn, Suva by the French Republic.
Chef Philippe was appointed to the rank of chevalier in the French Order of Agricultural Merit, “l’Ordre du Mérite Agricole” on Wednesday evening at the French Residence in Suva by the Ambassador of France to Fiji François-Xavier Leger.
The evening saw Chef Philippe congratulated and celebrated by many of his colleagues, family and friends, including the Ambassador and Head of the Delegation of the European Union for the Pacific Sujiro Seam, former President of Fiji Ratu Epeli Nailatikau, Holiday Inn general manager Mohammed Feroz and farmers and suppliers Chef Philippe has worked with for over a decade.
