Chartered accounting firm KPMG Fiji has donated $AU5000 (approx. $F7900) to two local shelters as it continues to strengthen its commitment to positive community impact through its support for organisations assisting vulnerable families and individuals across Fiji.
The two local shelters are Fiji Family Care Centre – The Salvation Army and Homes of Hope Fiji, which provide safety, care and essential assistance to families and individuals in need.
KPMG managing partner Sharvek Naidu said the donations were part of their commitment to delivering timely and meaningful social impact where it was needed most.
“The funds were used to address immediate needs across multiple centres,” Mr Naidu said in a statement.
The donation to The Salvation Army Lautoka Family Care Centre was presented by Mr Naidu and Naomi Mitchell, head of Mid-Market & Private at KPMG Australia, in March.
Mr Naidu said the funds to The Salvation Army Lautoka Family Care Centre meant that the organisation would be able to purchase groceries to meet immediate needs.
A spokesperson for The Salvation Army said a portion of the donation was set aside for the Kauwai Boys in Raiwai, Suva for the provision of essential supplies.
For the Homes of Hope Fiji, the donation was used to both meet immediate nutritional needs and to enhance the living environment of residents.
“This dual focus reflects our commitment to holistic care addressing both physical sustenance and emotional well being,” a spokesperson for the Homes of Hope Fiji said.
