A woman who created a fake profile in the name of her husbands Disk Jockey (DJ) business and obtained money from the public has been charged for obtaining financial advantage.
The 44-year-old is from Dreketi Feeder Road, Lautoka and she dishonestly obtained $250 from a member of a public through the Mpaisa platform on January 3 last year.
Investigations revealed that she created a Facebook account for her husband without his consent and was dealing with members of the public.
“Her husband is a 43-year-old Disk Jockey (DJ) and provides live streaming services. The accused was receiving money for services as advertised on Facebook without her husband’s knowledge,” said Fiji Police.
She is in Police custody and will appear at the Lautoka Magistrate court today.
