Sigatoka’s Lawaqa Park witnessed an unprecedented spectacle on Saturday night when the Fiji’s Heavyweight Championship bout between James Singh and Semi Dauloloma descended into chaos under the Bluewater Boxing Promotion.

From the outset, Dauloloma demonstrated dominance, with a powerful first-round performance that sent Singh crashing to the canvas.

However, Singh showcased his resilience by recovering in the second round despite enduring further solid hits from Dauloloma.

The second round took a dramatic turn towards its conclusion when both fighters fell to the canvas.

While on the ground, Singh landed three controversial blows to the back of Dauloloma’s head, prompting an immediate stoppage of the bout for a ten-minute medical evaluation.

In a shocking twist, as Dauloloma was recuperating in his corner, he suddenly charged across the ring to confront Singh, throwing several punches.

This unexpected outburst triggered a melee, with corner-men and fans from both sides joining the fray.

The ring quickly became a battleground, with punches being thrown at referees, judges, and even police officers who intervened to restore order.

After a tense and chaotic period, officials managed to regain control, and the fight was ultimately declared a no contest.

As a result, James Singh retained his Fiji heavyweight title amidst the disorder.

The dramatic turn of events left fans and officials stunned, casting a shadow over what was anticipated to be a thrilling contest.

The incident highlights the unpredictable nature of the sport and the critical need for maintaining order within the ring.

The bout’s abrupt and unsatisfactory end means that questions remain about a potential rematch and the future of both fighters in the heavyweight division.

Meanwhile, Singh, after the fight said, he would be ready for a re-match.

“If he wants it, I am ready for it. It was unprofessional for him (Dauloloma) to do what he did in the ring,” Singh said.

A disappointed Dauloloma said Singh’s act was not of a champion.

“He punched me on the head from the back while I was down. What kind of champion is that? I want a re-match for this, soon,” Dauloloma said.
