Changes to Super League

Netball Fiji is introducing two changes to this year’s Finance Hub Super League which is slated to commence later this month.

The changes will see each team having the opportunity to host matches instead of having the tournament at a certain venue.

Netball Fiji has also increased the number of participating teams from six to eight this year.

These were discussed during a presidential meeting between the parent body and the leaders of major associations where discussions based around the upcoming Super League.

“Each team will be having the opportunity to host matches. The idea is each host can play in front of their home crowd and generate more excitement for their teams and local netball competitions,” Netball Fiji chief executive Vivian Koster stated.

“We have added two more team taking the total to eight. The two teams are Kikau and Kacau which comprise of 21 & Under squad members. The tournament will provide them the opportunity to have continuous match play as they prepare for the Netball World Youth Cup in 2025.”

The Finance Hub Super League will run for seven weeks in a round-robin format followed by a finals day where each team will play for rankings.
