THE Fiji national men’s football head coach, Rob Sherman has named his squad for the FIFA World Cup 2026 Oceania Qualifiers, in Papua New Guinea.
Among the 23-member squad are Labasa players Christopher Wasasala and veteran Simione Tamanisau, who have secured their spots in the lineup.
However, Samu Kautoga from Rewa will miss the matches due to an ankle injury, and Epeli Leiroti’s recent injury has also led to his exclusion from the team.
Another significant absence is Rewa’s goalkeeper Isikeli Sevanaia.
The Bula Boys are scheduled to depart for Papua New Guinea tomorrow, where they will face Papua New Guinea and New Caledonia in the upcoming matches.
Returning to the squad are Mohammad Raheem, Scott Wara, Mosese Nabose, and Antonio Tuivuna, who were unavailable for the first set of matches in Suva.
On the other hand, Joela Biuvanua, Josh Qereqeretabua from Charlton Athletic, Kavaia Rawaqa, Aprosa Yada, and Etonio Dogalau from Ba have been omitted from the squad for this round.
