Defending champion of the Vodafone National Regional Club Championship, Ba’s Dayal Steels Yalalevu FC, have set their eyes on this year’s title.
The Marshall Ali-coached side has qualified to the semi-finals and will face hosts Greenstars in the second semi-final at 4pm tomorrow at Sigatoka’s Lawaqa Park.
Team’s technical adviser and former Ba coach Shalen Lal says, the support from fans has been crucial in the success of the team.
“Special thanks go to the Badrau community which has backed the team a lot. The community has produced many Ba and national reps in the past,” he said.
Lal added playing the hosts in the semis will not be easy, however, his team is ready.
“We have stepped up preparations this week knowing we have a crucial game come Saturday and the final on Sunday if we do make it.
“Greenstars FC is a good side as we have seen in the pool stages but I can say that our team is ready for them.”
Ba reps Malakai Tiwa, Sanaila Waqanicakau, Junior Singh and Shaneel Narayan will lead the charge for Yalalevu FC in the finals.
Tiwa headed in a late goal in the 2018 final which helped them beat Nailaga FC in the final that year.
Meanwhile, the first semi-final will be played between Rewa’s Kasavu FC and Nadi’s Nalovo FC at 2pm on Saturday.
The final is scheduled for 2pm on Sunday.
