The pools for the 2025 McDonald’s Fiji Coral Coast 7s have been finalized, promising three days of top-tier rugby action at Lawaqa Park, Sigatoka, from January 16–18.

Featuring elite Fijian teams and international heavyweights, the competition across the men’s and youth divisions will be intense.

In the youth category, defending champions Dominion Brothers are drawn in Pool YA, where they face Tuva Youth, Pacific Nomads, and Nauru Rugby.

Pool YB includes Bilo Bar Aflame Youth, Tubarua, McDonald’s Saunaka, and Sunnybank Dragons.

Pool YC boasts U18 Japan, Village Boys, Star Hospitality Pacific Mana, and Navala Rugby Youth, while Pool YD pits Southland Broncos, Sacramento Kaji, Sausauvou Taveuni, and Noi Nabua Stallions against each other.

Last year’s champions Dominion Brothers will aim to retain their crown against fierce local and international opposition.

The men’s category sees an equally competitive field.

In Pool MA, defending champions Fiji 7s are joined by NZ Sevens 2, Tuva Rugby, and Brothers.

Pool MB features NZ Sevens 1, Drua 7s, Seattle Barbarians, and Colo West.

Pool MC will see BLK Lavidi, Manu Samoa 7s, Bula Bay 7s, and Ratu Filise battle it out, while Pool MD includes Aussie Select 7s, McDonald’s Mike Friday Select 7s, Devo Babas, and Takita Brothers 7s.

Chairman Jay Whyte reflected on the strength of this year’s tournament, saying, “The pools are out for 2025, and it’s very quickly apparent that the contest to simply get out of the pools will be difficult. There are no easy pools, with an even spread of international teams and the highest quality of Fijian club teams making the 2025 tournament the strongest on record.”
