EVERY weekend brings a new lesson for the CBM mixed netball team, and player Loise Bereso believes the side is growing stronger with every match.

The team recently completed its fourth outing of the Newworld Suva Netball Association season after coming out victorious against Cawaci Alumni 26-16, continuing a campaign built on development, teamwork and enjoyment of the game.

Although there is still room for improvement, Loise said the squad is committed to putting in the work on and off the court.

“We’re always coming in for extra training sessions, so that’s what we’re trying to improve on this season,” she said.

CBM has recorded two wins and one loss from its opening fixtures, with the team focused les on results and more on improving from week to week.

“We’re just trying to do better than the weekend before,” Bereso said.

One of the team’s biggest strengths is its youthful line-up.

While Loise considers herself one of the experienced players, she said it has been encouraging to see new faces embracing the sport.

“We’re a very young team, and it’s exciting to see so many people joining from different walks of life,” she said.

She believes the team’s confidence continues to growwith every game, as players become more comfortable with one another and develop a better understanding of their roles on the court.

Beyond competition, Bereso said the club prides itself on creating a welcoming and enjoyable environment.

“We’re a team of vibes,” she said.

“There’s no pressure, we come to the court to enjoy ourselves and use netball as a way to relieve stress while staying active.”

For CBM, every match is another opportunity to grow, and with a young squad eager to learn.
