There has been a lot on my plate since I was appointed CEO last month, says Maritime Safety Authority of Fiji (MSAF) chief executive officer Joeli Cawaki.
During an interview with The Fiji Times, Mr Cawaki said the organisation was working towards an annual strategic plan.
“We have started with our corporate plan,” he said.
“In every organisation, we need to have a good plan.
“From our corporate plan, we will have our annual strategic plan for five years on what we need to do on a yearly basis.
“And then we will tell finance, this is what we are going to do for this year and what we are working on and what we need to do for next year.”
Mr Cawaki said there was a need to review the policies in place.
“We will need to review legislation and also, we need to review the policies that we have and the standard operating procedures (SOPs).
“When I came to MSAF, I had asked the managers and all stations to do a SWOT analysis for me.
“And we have compiled all those SWOT analysis results, and we will put them in a spreadsheet.
“We will look at the immediate, the short term, medium term, and also the long term on issues to be addressed in the office and also our stations.”
