FIJI Water Flying Fijians captain Waisea Nayacalevu and Olympian Viliame Mata have joined the Flying Fijians camp in London ahead of their second Test match against Georgia this Saturday.

This was confirmed by team manager Eleina McDonald from the team camp in Europe.

Jiuta Wainiqolo, Sireli Maqala and Stade Francais winger Peniasi Dakuwaqa were expected to join camp last night.

The Flying Fijians and Georgia last met in the 2023 Rugby World Cup, where Fiji won 17-12.

The two teams have met seven times with Fiji winning five, Georgia winning one, while one match ended in a draw.

The two teams faced each other for the first time in 2012.

A tight battle is expected when 11th ranked Fiji take on the 13th ranked Georgians.

This is the last test match before the Mick Byrne-coached side prepares for the Test against the All Blacks.

Coach Byrne is expected to fi eld his best side with about 15 overseas-based players predicted to join the side before the Test against Georgia.

Looking at recent forms, Georgia has won all five matches played in 2024 including victories against Portugal, Romania, Spain, Netherlands and Germany.

Fiji goes into this match on a three-match losing streak having lost to the Barbarians, and losses against England and Portugal at the 2023 Rugby World Cup.

The match kicks off at 4am on Saturday.

After the Georgia Test, Fiji will then prepare for the much awaited clash against the All Blacks.

The Fiji-All Blacks match will take place on July 20 at the Snapdragon Stadium in San Diego, USA.
