Case adjourned for FBC former CEO, current CFO

Former Fiji Broadcasting Corporation CEO Riyaz Sayed-Khaiyum and the company’s current chief financial officer, Vimlesh Sagar, appeared this afternoon at the Suva Magistrate’s Court.

Mr Sagar and Mr Sayed-Khaiyum appeared before Magistrate Charles Ratakele for a pretrial conference.

Mr Sayed-Khaiyum is charged with abuse of office for gain and an alternative charge of general dishonesty causing a loss.

Mr Sagar is charged with general dishonesty.

Legal counsel Arieta Vaganalau from the Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption appeared for prosecution.

Defence lawyers Ritesh Singh from Sherani & Co represented Mr Sagar, while Gul Fatima from RPatel Lawyers represented Mr Sayed-Khaiyum.

The case has been adjourned.
