A FAMILY was awoken from their sleep when a vehicle crashed through a fence and into their compound along Milverton Rd in Suva around 3am yesterday, damaging property and leaving passengers injured and hospitalised.
The vehicle was extensively damaged after ploughing through the fence and landing upside down on the concrete wall of the car port inside the compound.
Homeowner Laisa Kumar said the female driver and her passengers sustained serious injuries in the crash and were rushed to the nearby CWM Hospital.
Ms Kumar said this was not the first time a vehicle had crashed into their compound, raising concerns about speeding and road safety along the busy stretch of road.
“Last year, a taxi had also crashed through here,” she said.
Questions sent to police regarding the incident remained unanswered at the time of publication.
