Cama thrives on Sukuna House motto

RATU Kadavulevu School’s

Sukuna House new senior boys long jump record holder, Josateki Cama dedicated his win to the Almighty God for giving him the strength to set a record of 6.49metres yesterday.

The Ra native broke the record of 6.09m set by Apisai of Ma’afu House last year.

Cama said he always relied on a Bible verse which was the motto of his Sukuna House which read that nothing was impossible in God’s eyes.

“I am grateful to members of our house for helping me get through all the challenges and for me to set a new record is a big achievement,” he said.

“I only reached the Tailevu Zone last year and my dreams of taking part in the Coca-Cola Games were crushed, so with this win, I know I can make it through and win more medals for the school.”

In second place was fellow Sukuna House athlete Levani Tamata with a jump of 6.10m and third place Maloni Siga of Ma’afu House with a jump of 5.96m.
