Cakau Pearls pulled off a determined second-half comeback to defeat Suva Velvet in their Tier Two under-9 clash during the Crest Fiji Primary Schools Netball Tournament quarter finals.
In a tightly contested encounter, Suva Velvet held a slim one-point lead at halftime after a spirited opening spell where both sides showed strong defensive pressure and quick passing through the midcourt.
However, the momentum shifted after the break as Cakau Pearls returned with renewed energy. They lifted their intensity and capitalised on key turnovers, converting their chances to score four goals in the second half to seal the win.
Suva Velvet fought hard to maintain their lead but struggled to contain the Pearls’ attacking surge in the closing stages.
In another match, Nadi Jet secured a 4-1 victory over Ba, keeping their defensive line intact while efficiently finishing their opportunities on attack.
