The Fiji Bulikula side has settled well in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea and is looking forward to its Test against Samoa in the Pacific Championship this Sunday.

The side has seven players from the Fiji National Rugby League Women’s Premiership while 14 players are Australian-based who play in the National Rugby League W competition.

Coach Josaia Dakuitoga said the match against Samoa would be a testing ground for the players.

“The Bulikula, as a team, have not been in action much but the players have been playing all along. So we are expecting a good battle against our Pacific sisters and I know it will be a good match,” Dakuitoga said.

He added team bonding had been going well between the players from Fiji and Australia.

“Some of them have met each other for the first time and it is great to see they have bonded well in such a short period of time. This is the way forward for women’s rugby league in Fiji.”

The Bulikula play Samoa at 2.45pm on Sunday.
