It will be an early night for sure says Fijian heavyweight boxer Semi Dauloloma, also known as ‘The Equaliser’ who takes on James Singh in the main supporting bout of the Kings Boxing Promotion on July 19.
The stakes are high, with two titles up for grabs, the Fiji heavyweight title held by Singh and the prestigious Leweni Waqa-Memorial Heavyweight Championship title belonging to Dauloloma.
In an interview with this newspaper, Dauloloma expressed his confidence and readiness for the fight, emphasising the extensive preparation and dedication he has put into training.
“All is set and ready to go, preparations have been great. This is a fight that I have really put my 100 per cent in,” said Dauloloma.
His training camp highlights the seriousness and commitment he has towards this bout.
“I have been in camp for two months, only have time to go visit my family on the weekends. This is how serious this fight is for me.
Despite Singh’s claims of a knockout victory, Dauloloma remains undeterred and predicts a swift end to the fight.
“I saw the videos and posts of Singh saying he will knock me out this and that, only thing I know it will be an early fight before the third round. I promise he will go down.”
His disciplined approach to diet and training, including early morning runs and rigorous workouts, reflect his determination.
“Everything from diet to training has been on track. All this hard work waking up early, working the hard wards goes to show how much this fight means.”
He has called out his fans to come out in full force and witness what promises to be a thrilling and unforgettable battle.
“I know this fight will be one for the books, so I like to call all my fans and supporters who have been there for me from day one to come in numbers and surely it will be a fight to watch and a fight to remember.
In addition to the heavyweight showdown, the event will feature other exciting title fights, including Fiji’s featherweight champion Junior Binnu Singh challenging Australia-based Runqi Zhou for the WBA sanctioned Super Bantamweight title.
While New Zealand Professional Boxing Commission super featherweight title will be up for grabs in a match between Mikaele Ravalaca and PNG’s Junior Kauko Raka.
The event is scheduled to take place at the Vodafone Arena in Suva on July 19.
