LEVUKA Public School’s brass band and color team have once again been honoured with invitations to participate in the Coca-Cola Games opening and closing ceremonies, as well as to perform the flag-raising ceremony — a role they held for the second consecutive year.

Assistant principal Vilisoni Rigamoto expressed surprise and gratitude for the invitation.

“We did not plan for this, but we are truly honoured to have been invited once more to take part in these important capacities at the annual meet,” Rigamoto said.

The brass band will feature 40 members performing at the finals for the first time, while the colour party includes 18 students who will proudly carry out the flag-raising duties.

To support their participation, the school conducted fundraisers which were well received by the Levuka community.

“Our parents, old scholars, teachers, and the wider community came together to help us raise the necessary funds to cover travel and logistics costs for the trip,” Rigamoto shared.

“Having our students represent Levuka Public School and Ovalau in these roles is a source of great pride for our school and community. It is a wonderful opportunity for them to showcase their talents on such a big stage,” he added.

The participation of the brass band and colour team adds a special dimension to Levuka Public School’s presence at the Coca-Cola Games, highlighting their commitment to excellence both on and off the track.
