Former International Boxing Organisation world champion Renold Quinlan is ready to fly the Fijian flag from tomorrow when he takes on fellow Fijian Isikeli ‘The Bullet’ Senidoko in an 8×3-minute cruiserweight division main bout of the Toe-to-Toe Boxing Promotion in Suva.
Quinlan, who is based out of Australia, said he respected his opponent but would be going out for a knockout win.
“Hats off to ‘The Bullet’ for taking the fight. I am going up to his weight for this one. Fiji wants to see the best. I am going to represent Fiji from now,” Quinlan said.
“They call him ‘The Bullet’ but without pulling the trigger, nothing is going to happen. They call me the destroyer, I’m going to give ‘The Bullet’ an early night.”
Senidoko has 10 bouts under his belt, winning two, losing six while two fights ended in a draw.
In contrast, a more experienced Quinlan has fought 29 bouts, winning 16, 11 by knockout while he has lost 12, four by knockout. Quinlan has called out other top boxers in the cruiserweight division.
“The other boys Joseph Kwadjo and Alivereti Kauyaca. I have already beaten Kwadjo when he was in his prime. I think if he took this fight now, I would end his boxing career,” he said.
“Kauyaca, I think he just won an IBO title. Maybe after this fight, if he wants to defend it against me, I will be more than happy.”
Quinlan has called on boxing fans to come out in numbers and see some entertaining fights. The program begins at 5pm with nine professional bouts on the cards. Tickets for the program are being sold at the Sports World Outlets in Suva and Nausori.
Tickets prices range from $20-$50.
