IT is a proud moment for Crusaders prop George Bower, who is poised to make his All-Blacks return in the upcoming Rugby Nations Championship after being named by head coach Dave Rennie in the squad yesterday.

Originally from Vagadaci Village in Levuka, Ovalau, Bower’s return is a testament to his form and resilience.

The 32-year-old has delivered a strong 2026 Shop N Sas Super Rugby Pacific campaign for the Crusaders, where his scrummaging reliability and rare ability to operate on both sides of the front row have once again made him an invaluable asset in a heavily rotated pack.

This marks a significant comeback for Bower, whose last Test appearance was in July 2025 against France in Hamilton.

Coming off the bench in a 29–19 victory, he earned his 25th Test cap.

Since then, he has worked his way back into contention through consistent performances rather than reputation, re-establishing himself as a dependable option in New Zealand Rugby’s front-row stocks.

Alongside his recall, head coach Dave Rennie has handed maiden All Blacks call-ups to Anton Segner, Xavier Numia, Fehi Fineanganofo, and Josh Moorby, following standout Super Rugby seasons.

Segner’s work rate for the Blues earned him player-of-the-year honours, while Numia’s consistency in the Hurricanes front row secured his elevation. Fineanganofo arrives after a record-breaking 17-try season, and Moorby’s attacking polish and versatility in the backline complete the new quartet.

For Bower, the recall represents both continuity and trust — an experienced hand returning to steady a core unit while a new generation is introduced at Test level.
