The Fiji Cancer Society’s tireless efforts in meeting the needs of local cancer patients has been further bolstered with a $53,000 contribution from the successful annual Style Fiji charity event staged at the Sofitel Fiji Resort and Spa last week.
Style Fiji trustee Marlene Vuniwaqa said this enormous amount was raised through auction, raffle and glow rings on the night of the glitz and glamour event.
With the main intention of support health services across Fiji, the black-tie event presented yet another successful fashion rendition as fashion elites converged on the night to contribute towards the vulnerable and Fijians fighting the deadly sickness.
“We are immensely grateful for the support and contribution of Sofitel Resort Fiji as our host for this year’s event,” Ms Vuniwaqa said.
“Their dedication and generosity have played a significant role in the success of Style Fiji.
“We were thrilled to receive a donation check of $12,000.00 from the management of Sofitel which will greatly contribute to our cause in aiding the Fiji Cancer Society.”
Ms Vuniwaqa also acknowledged the hard work by Style Fiji volunteers, models, the back-of-house volunteers and everyone who contributed their time, effort, and resources to make this charity event possible.
“We would like to thank companies that have contributed to donating auction item. These funds will go a long way in supporting The Fiji Cancer Society.
“Once again, we extend our sincerest appreciation to you and your organisations for your unwavering support and contribution to Style Fiji.
“Your generosity has made a significant difference in the lives of many individuals, and we are truly grateful for your partnership.”
