Rewa FC has received a timely boost ahead of its OFC Men’s Champions League 2026 campaign after the Fiji Football Association presented the Delta Tigers with financial assistance as they prepare to represent the country on home soil.
The sponsorship cheque was presented yesterday at the Fiji FA Academy in Vatuwaqa, where Rewa is completing its final preparations for the regional championship, which will be held in Fiji from August 9-22.
The Delta Tigers qualified for the competition after winning the 2025 Extra Premier League title and will be making their third consecutive appearance in Oceania’s premier club tournament.
FFA president Rajesh Patel said supporting Rewa was part of Fiji FA’s commitment to ensuring the nation’s representative had every opportunity to succeed.
“It is costing us a lot of money to host the championship in Fiji, but we believe it is an investment in the development of football and in giving our representative club the best possible opportunity to compete,” Patel said.
“Playing at home provides Rewa with a great chance to challenge for the title, and we hope they make the most of this opportunity.”
Rewa FC senior vice-president Sanjay Patel thanked Fiji FA for both the financial contribution and access to the Fiji FA Academy.
“We sincerely thank Fiji FA for its generous support. The financial assistance, together with the use of the Fiji FA Academy for our training camp, has been invaluable to our preparations,” Patel said.
“We are proud to represent Fiji on the regional stage. Winning the OFC Champions League would be the biggest achievement in the history of our club, and the players and officials are committed to giving their very best.”
Patel also highlighted the club’s Red Kaji Kaji grassroots program, which currently involves 218 children aged six to 14, reflecting Rewa’s commitment to developing future football talent while pursuing regional success.
