The stage is set for one of the most electrifying events of the year as Digicel Fiji steps up as the proud sponsor of the 2024 Central Community Games, taking place this week from the 5-7 at the Fiji Sports Council Facilities in Laucala Bay, Suva.
In a ceremony that took place last week, Digicel Fiji CEO Farid Mohammed handed over the sponsorship to Peter Mazey, CEO of the Fiji National sports commission, solidifying a partnership that promises to inspire and uplift communities across the central division.
This year’s central community games are expected to be bigger and better than ever, featuring a staggering 5,000 athletes across 500 registered teams.
These teams will represent 72 urban communities and 13 rural community sports association, setting the stage for an unforgettable three-day celebration of sports, culture and community.
With over 30,000 youths and community members anticipated to gather for the event, the Games are more than just a competition, they’re a movement, showcasing Fiji’s rich talent and unwavering community spirit.
Digicel Fiji CEO Farid Mohammed expressed his company’s pride in championing the games, emphasizing the importance of empowering young people through sports.
