The Labasa-Navua match at the Rooster Chicken/ Scoops Ice-Cream Battle of the Giants is expected to draw a large crowd on the opening day of the tournament at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva today.

The two teams meet in a repeat of last year’s final, where Labasa edged the Southerner’s 2-1 after extra-time at the same venue.

Fiji Football Association CEO Mohammed Yusuf says tournament’s ticket sales have been good.

“We have had cooperate houses buying tickets in bulks and that goes to show that a good crowd is expected over the three days of pool games,” Yusuf said.

He has requested fans to get their tickets early to avoid last minute disappointments.

In matches today, Ba takes on Nadroga at 1pm, Lautoka battles Nadi at 3pm while Suva takes on Rewa at 5.30pm.

The official opening is scheduled for 5pm while the feature match of day one will see Labasa take on Navua at 7.30pm.
