The Lautoka football team is fully geared up to take on Labasa in the Rooster Chicken/Scoops Premium Ice Cream Battle of the Giants football tournament semi-final at the HFC Bank Stadium tomorrow.
Lautoka was the first team to book its place in the semi-finals after thrashing Tailevu Naitasiri 5-1, beating Nadi 3-1 and also holding Navua to a one-all draw in the pool stage.
“The preparation is good so far, however, injuries clouding Muni Shivam Naidu has forced him out from the 18-member squad.
“Saula Waqa is under recovery and hopefully the physiologist gives him the green light for him to participate in the semi-finals and finals,” said Lautoka Football Association president Shalendra Prasad.
According to Prasad, the Bargain Box-sponsored side would go game by game and are only focused on their next game.
“When it comes to the knockout games, any team can be dangerous plus they had ample time to prepare for the game but we try to come out victorious in the match.”
He said the boys would give their best as they had been giving throughout the Digicel Fiji Premier League season.
“They will perform up to the par and will definitely give their best.”
Lautoka takes on Labasa at 2pm while Suva takes on Navua in the second semi-final at 4.30pm.
