RUGBY, booze and glittery costumes makes the atmosphere all the more exciting! The World Rugby Sevens Series events are one of the few occasions where the crowd bursts out in some bizarre costumes.
From “Star Wars” stormtroppers, emoji masked spectators to cowboys riding, it’s no doubt you will spot the sea of blue wiggers cheering their hearts out!
Blue Wiggers is a group of Fiji 7s fans based all over the world who meet up once in a year at tournaments like Hong Kong 7s.
Blue Wiggers Road to Rio 2016 a closed group on facebook stated the group is to try and formalise a group of diehard Fiji 7s rugby fans who have been wearing blue wigs in those events to cheer the boys on the field.
The mission of the group is to organise Fiji supporters, compose chants, practise meke or dance moves, sing songs, hold banners/flags, wear kalavata/tshirts and blue wigs each time there is a game.
Their vision is to stand out in the crowd in our colours and cheer on to fire up the performance of the Fiji Team on the field and get attention of the TV crew.
You might have seen them on TV. They are the ones with funky costumes and blue wigs.
It’s great to see that passion for Fiji 7s in them.
