THE journey back to the top has been built on belief, patience and unity, and now Dayals Sawmillers Ba FC stands just one victory away from lifting the 2026 Extra Premier League title.
After edging Labasa FC 2-1 in a crucial encounter last Saturday, the Men in Black moved within touching distance of another major achievement, adding to the Fiji FACT title they claimed earlier this season.
For Ba FC president Praneel Dayal, the hard-fought win in Labasa was about much more than three competition points.
“A moment to cherish,” Dayal said.
“Some victories are about more than football. Celebrating the win in Labasa alongside my son, Aanav Dayal, made the moment even more meaningful. Sharing the joy with family, our players and every Ba supporter is something I’ll always treasure.

Behind the celebrations are years of commitment to rebuilding one of Fiji football’s most successful clubs and Dayal has played a key role in guiding Ba back into title contention, backing the team through difficult periods and helping restore the winning culture the district is renowned for.
Now, with only Tailevu Naitasiri standing between Ba and the league trophy, the focus remains firmly on finishing the job.
“We look forward to a good game against Tailevu Naitasiri this week. If we win that, we lift the title,” Dayal said.
Across the soccer-mad town of Ba, excitement continues to grow with supporters who have stood by the club through every challenge hoping to witness another memorable chapter in the district’s proud football history.
Having already captured the Fiji FACT crown, Ba FC now has the opportunity to complete a remarkable campaign by adding the Extra Premier League title to its trophy cabinet. One more win would not only reward the players and officials for their dedication throughout the season but also give the loyal Ba faithful another reason to celebrate.
For a club built on tradition and success, the trophy is now in sight. The final step remains, and the Men in Black know that history is theirs to write.
