FIGHT fans are in for an action-packed weekend as Bluewater Boxing Promotion prepares to host the “Lawaqa Rumbles” this Friday and Saturday at Lawaqa Park in Sigatoka.

The highly-anticipated event will feature some of Fiji’s top local fighters, rising stars and international talent, promising explosive clashes and nonstop entertainment for boxing supporters.

Headlining the main bout will be an exciting showdown between James Singh of Maui Bay Boxing Club and hard-hitting Sainivalati Ratu from Navosa Valley Rd.

Both fighters are expected to bring plenty of aggression into the ring, with local supporters already predicting a tough battle between the experienced campaigners.

The main supporting bout will see Mikaele Ravalaca of Ra take on Kaliova Tahikia from Butterfly Boxing Club in another contest expected to produce fireworks.

Adding more excitement to the card is the supporting bout between Jese Ravudi of Vatuvua Boxing Club and Filise Nabua from Nasavua, Ra.

One of the feature international fights will see New Zealand-based boxer Naden Keanu square off against Jonasa Kavika of Narata Valley Rd, giving fans a chance to witness overseas experience against local toughness.

The undercard also boasts several exciting matchups including Zulfikar Zeraan Ali, son of the late Joy Ali, taking on Ronesh Prasad of Suva.

Fans can also look forward to the clash between Mohammed Ali and Jone Tabuarua, promoted as “The Big Fight”, while Poasa Tuimaba meets Simoni Mario in the light heavyweight division.

Other bouts include Aisea Naicovu against Fredrick Chand in the 79kg contest, Rusiate Veremalua of Bilalevu, Sigatoka facing Tomu Gonetabua from Vanuakula, Naitasiri, and Safroz Ali taking on Jnr Roshan Ali in the 57kg division.

With boxing continuing to grow around the country, organisers believe the event will provide a major platform for local fighters to showcase their talent and entertain fans.

Action begins from 3.30pm at Lawaqa Park this Saturday, with supporters expected to turn up in numbers for what promises to be a thrilling weekend of boxing in Sigatoka.

Meanwhile, on opening day on Friday, Alivereti Kauyaca takes on Savenaca Naliva in the cruiserweight division while Kolinio Luvelolo faces New Zealand boxer Kyan Hand in the light heavyweight contest.

Action starts from 4pm, with gates opening at 3pm.
