Army Green is determined to set a high standard of competition in this year’s Suva Rugby Union club games, following their impressive victory of 41-19 against Lami Cavaliers in the Escott Shield competition’s round 11 at Albert Park last Saturday.

Head coach Sireli Ledua reflected on the team’s performance, expressing satisfaction with the progress made throughout the season.

“It has been a good season for us, the boys really are doing well especially in our three past games, and the game against Lami Cavaliers,” said Ledua.

Ledua acknowledged the team’s individual talents.

“We have really good players in the team, young players sometimes they get carried away from the cheers from the crowd, I think that is some of the areas we need to work on from now.”

He added the primary objective for Army Green this year is to restore their reputation in the Suva Rugby circuit.

With a history of falling short in previous years, the team has integrated young talent to infuse new energy and potential into their lineup.

He also recognised the formidable nature of opponents like Lami Cavaliers.

“Lami Cavaliers is a tough team, but the boys really worked hard throughout this season and high hopes is expected from the team, looking forward for a good competition this year.

“The deal coming in to the match was to get a bonus point, we manage to accomplish our mission this week, so we now looking forward to next week’s match.”
