The Biausevu villager whose picture was taken by a United Kingdom student who then created a pencil painted portrait has been identified as Romanu Finau.
Mr Finau’s niece Dikeva Sovau contacted the Fiji Times this morning and said the UK family could contact her as she would make arrangements with her uncle.
“He lives in Biausevu Village in Nadroga and if the family in UK would like to contact him then they could contact me on +679 8305933,” she said.
“My uncle is a nice man and very friendly.”
The family in United Kingdom’s desire to locate Mr Finau was published in the Fiji Times website and social media page this morning.
Responses have flowed in as people have contacted the Fiji Times office sharing information about Mr Finau.
Cruz Morris is the UK student who took the picture of Mr Finau on April 1st at a village near the Biausevu waterfalls, off the Naviti Resort.
