Better medical access for people in northern Tailevu

ABOUT 8000 people in the North of Tailevu will now have better medical access with the opening of the new Sawakasa Health Centre on Friday.

The villagers used to have to travel to Korovou for medical treatment after the Sawakasa Dispensary was destroyed in a fire in 2017.

Fiji’s Minister for Health and Medical Services Dr Ifereimi Waqainabete said the need for rebuilding the health facility was because of the huge number of people from Sawakasa and nearby villages who had to fork out extra money to travel to Korovou Hospital to get checked.
