ONE of the leading beauty salons in the country has joined the ranks of talented artists providing hair and make-up services at Fiji Fashion Week (FJFW), underway at Suva’s Vodafone Arena.
The Nadi-based Totoka Hair & Make-up Fiji beauty house is the first local outlet to begin retailing products by Harlotte Cosmetics, the Australian brand sponsoring make-up at FJFW 2016.
Totoka founder Leanne Goff said it was their first time to actively participate at the South Pacific’s largest fashion event, where they work alongside internationally leading make-up artists from Harlotte Cosmetics.
“We have a team of three stylists at FJFW, as part of the Harlotte make-up team,” she said.
Keeping in line with Harlotte’s signature concept, make-up looks to expect on this year’s runway include fresh, glowing skin, nude and slightly smoky eyes and lots of tropical lip colours.
“It’s the first time our company is participating in FJFW. Two of my stylists have been doing make up for over 10 years and have been part of FJFW previously, however, we are excited by the opportunity to work with such a creative and innovative team like Harlotte Cosmetics,” Ms Goff said.
Totoka’s Denarau Island salon now has the full range of Harlotte products stocked, which includes foundations, eye-shadows, bronzers, shimmers and the brand’s extensive range of lipsticks.
Consumer feedback has also proven positive to the innovative Australian brand, which has also launched a foundation specifically designed to match Fijian skin tones.
“We purchased a full Harlotte professional make-up kit about two months ago and have been extensively using it on our wedding and salon clients, and of course ourselves. We love the products and the feedback has been amazing,” she said.
Ms Goff said their Harlotte products have been selling fast.
The full service salon is based on Denarau Island, with a team of qualified and experienced stylists specialising in a range of hair services and makeup designs.
