Two people have been charged with murder in relation to the death of a woman in Nausori in the weekend.
Those charged are the partner of the deceased and another female.
The deceased, in her thirties, was brought to the Nausori Health Centre by the partner on Saturday with visible injuries.
Fiji Police said medical officials pronounced her death whereby an investigation was conducted.
“Initial information gathered was that the victim was picked up by her partner on the night of the 16th of May 2025 from Nausori town,” said Fiji Police.
“Further investigation revealed that the victim’s partner and the second accused, a woman in her 30s allegedly assaulted the victim, causing serious injuries resulting in her death.”
“The two were jointly charged with one count of murder.”
Both were produced in the Nausori Magistrates Court this afternoon.
