THE Pacific can be warriors of climate change.
This is the message King contestant and winner of the talent show, Josaia Nanuqa, wanted the people of Fiji to know.
Mr Nanuqa, 20, sponsored by Rentokil Initial, performed a poem with a multi-media slide presentation of the effects of climate change in Fiji and the Pacific.
“A lot of times, the Pacific are known as the victims of climate change,” he said.
“But I want people to change this mentality because Pacific Islanders can be warriors if they show the world that even though we are but small, we can be effective in our fight against such a deadly issue.”
He said the talent night was an opportunity to awareness on an issue.
