THE country’s best surfers will battle in the 2018 Vonu Lighthouse Surf Open on Sunday in Suva. Fiji surfing coach Ian Portingale said he was expecting a successful event. Points at stake in the one-day event will also go towards surfers fighting for a spot in the Fiji team for the International Surfing Association World Open Surfing titles in Japan in September.
Fiji’s best surfers Aca Ravulo, Inia Nakalevu, Lesi Navuwai and Che Slater will be the top bet in the competition at the surf spot near the Suva lighthouse.
In the women’s competition, Hannah Bennett, sister Kim, French surfer Anaisa Rouveyrol and Malia Johnson will battle for the top spot.
