FOR Flying Fijian Nemani Nadolo running on against Australia would present him an opportunity to face his cousin Tevita Kuridrani.
The cousins, who are best of mates off the field, compete with no holds barred when on the field. The two have been on opposition sides before.
Nadolo on the wing for the Crusaders and Kuridrani for Brumbies, but now the stage is bigger and there would be torn loyalties in the family when it comes to this game.
Before leaving for England, Nadolo said he was excited to be playing against Kuridrani.
“Members of the same family on the opposing ends, that would be interesting.
“But I am very happy that Tevita has made it into the squad,” he said.
“Don’t know who they will be cheering for when Fiji takes on Australia.”
Both hail from Namatakula in Nadroga and there would be cheers for Kuridrani as well when he touches the ball.
Both are also cousins to Lote Tuqiri and nephews to Noa Nadruku and Luke Erenavula.
Fiji coach John McKee said facing his countrymen would be tough for Kuridrani.
“It will be interesting for Kuridrani to play against his countrymen, it is one thing to play against New Zealand or South Africa, this will be quite different and definitely will bring some pressure on him,” he said.
Fiji takes on Australia at 3.45am tomorrow.
