THE Fiji Secondary Schools basketball championship takes centre stage today as teams prepare for a three-day battle for honours from August 27-29.

The championship will bring together young basketballers from schools across the country, with teams looking to make their mark from the opening day and build momentum towards later stages.

Defending champion for the under-19 boys and U17 girls last year, Yat Sen Secondary School will enter the tournament with pressure of being the team to beat but will need to maintain their composure and consistency if they are to retain the crown. The championship will also provide a platform for young basketballers to showcase their skills, represent their schools and gain valuable experience in a competitive environment. The tournament will feature more than 20 schools over three days.
