BANK South Pacific (BSP) – Fiji Branch customers can now receive Western Union remittances directly into their BSP accounts.

This follows a ground-breaking partnership announced yesterday by BSP and Fexco Fiji.

The partnership will allow customers to have access to a broad range of financial products and services and aims to “encourage rightful ownership of funds, promote safety and security and cultivate a culture of savings”.

BSP’s relieving country head and chief financial officer Rajeshwar Singh said the partnership was a key pillar in BSP’s mission to offer cost-effective, modern banking solutions that promote financial security and inclusion.

“This collaboration reinforces BSP’s commitment to delivering financial services that are not only accessible to all Fijians, but also designed to help build a more financially secure future,” Mr Singh said.

“For individuals working abroad, this service simplifies the remittance process — allowing them to send money directly into their beneficiaries’ BSP accounts. This eliminates the need for recipients to queue at agents to collect funds, offering them the flexibility to manage their finances with ease.

“They can now safely access their funds through BSP ATMs, EFTPoS merchants, fostering a secure and savings-focused mindset.”

Fexco Fiji country manager Feskatoa Kostatino acknowledged BSP for the partnership.

“It serves as a platform for impactful synergies and innovation as we collaborate moving forward,” Mr Kostatino said.

“Our shared commitment to ensuring that every individual has access to efficient and reliable financial services has inspired us to reshape the remittance landscape in Fiji.”
