Former Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama will remain the FijiFirst Party leader, even in prison, says former FFP general secretary Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum.

In a press conference this afternoon, Mr Sayed-Khaiyum, who held the media conference in his capacity as one of the party founders, said Mr Bainimarama would remain leader irrespective of what happens.

“Josaia Voreqe Bainimarama is still our party leader. He is one of the three party founders which also includes Salesh Kumar and myself as the third and no matter what, irrespective of what happens, he will continue to be the leader of FijiFirst,” he said.

“We also want to thank everybody for their massive support, Mr Bainimarama is still our party leader even in custody, and God be willing he’ll be out soon, he is the key founder of the party and has great visionary.”

Mr Sayed-Khaiyum said they were waiting for the appeal process.
