Western, interior and Eastern parts of Viti Levu (parts of Nadi to Ba/Rakiraki, interior Ba/Nadroga/Navosa, interior and coastal Ra-Serua-Namosi-Naitasiri, Greater Navua-Suva-Nausori) and Vanua Levu is now under a heavy rain warning from severe thunderstorms.
The Nadi weather office states severe thunderstorms are expected to produce heavy rainfall and may lead to flash flooding of low lying areas in the next few hours.
This is due to a trough of low pressure that lies over the Northern part of the country.
Due to the unpredictable nature of thunderstorms, some location within the warning area may experience little to no impact, while others could face severe conditions.
The weather office is urging people to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions as conditions can change rapidly.
