BA is on track to end a seven-year wait for the Extra Premier League title after securing a crucial 2-1 victory over Labasa at Subrail Park yesterday.
The Men in Black strengthened their position at the top of the points table with the win, putting themselves in a strong position with two matches remaining in the competition.
Ba last won the league title in 2019 and is now within touching distance of reclaiming the crown.
The victory was particularly important as Ba and Labasa were battling for the top spot, with the Men in Black showing composure to claim all three points in Labasa.
The teams went into halftime locked at 1-1 before Ba found the decisive goal in the 76th minute.
Ba coach Ravinesh Kumar, however, was cautious about his side’s chances of winning the title.
“I will not say that at the moment. However, I will say that we want to be competitive during the season,” he said.
Mr Kumar said the team still had two matches to play and anything could happen.
“This was a turning point in the league, where Ba and Labasa were fighting for the top spot, and Ba came out victorious with a gallant performance today in Labasa.”
Ba’s latest victory follows its win over Labasa in the Fiji FACT semi-final last month.
Meanwhile, in another match played yesterday, Nadi edged Nasinu 3-2.
