The Ba Futsal side remains undefeated after the completion of the first round of the 2023 Digicel Fiji National Futsal League- Western Division.

The team has 13 points after five matches. Ba drew their opening match against Lautoka Futsal by 3-3.

The side went on to defeat Nadi, Nadroga, Tavua and Rakiraki convincingly. Coach Deepesh Prasad said he was happy with the boys performance in the competition so far.

“The competition level is going a level-up amongst the Western teams and it is been a tough first round of matches,” he said.

According to Prasad they have a set of different age-group players and they are trying to blend in with the new ideas being put into the training sessions.

“We have some new inclusions in the squad as well.”

He said despite the lead at the top of the standings, they would need to work on their on and off ball movements, transition in both their attack and defense and also their team work.

Prasad said after the conclusion of all three rounds- two top teams from the Western, Southern and Northern Division would qualify for a Super Six competition to be played later in the year.
