Ba FC have ended a 16-year wait for Fiji FACT glory after defeating Navua FC 3-1 in a dramatic penalty shootout to claim the 2026 BiC Fiji FACT title at Subrail Park in Labasa today.

The pulsating grand final finished 0-0 after 90 minutes of regulation time and a further 30 minutes of extra time, with neither side able to find the breakthrough despite several promising chances.

With the championship destined to be decided from the penalty spot, the Men in Black held their composure, converting three penalties to seal the victory and lift the coveted trophy.

The triumph also marks Ba’s first Fiji FACT championship since 2010—coincidentally, the last time they won the tournament they also defeated Navua in the final.

Navua produced a determined and resilient performance throughout the contest, matching Ba over 120 gruelling minutes before falling short in the penalty decider.

Ba’s road to the title was equally impressive.

They eliminated hosts and defending champions Labasa 1-0 in extra time in the semi-final, courtesy of an Etonia Dogalau strike in the opening period of extra time. Earlier in the tournament, they also laid down a marker with a 3-1 victory over defending champions Rewa in pool play.

The latest triumph further strengthens Ba’s rich football legacy, ending a long wait for Fiji FACT success and reaffirming the Men in Black’s place as the competition’s most decorated side.
