BA Rugby Union showed strong early-season form with a convincing 34–10 win over Malolo Rugby in a pre-season trial match held at the Ba Methodist Ground last week Wednesday.
The match provided both teams with a valuable opportunity to test combinations, assess player fitness, and build match conditioning ahead of the upcoming season.
It was a physical encounter from start to finish, with both sides putting in a committed performance despite the scoreline. Coaches and team management from both camps used the hit-out to evaluate depth in their squads and identify areas for improvement.
Ba Rugby controlled much of the contest with structured play and strong execution, while Malolo showed moments of promise but were unable to consistently break through Ba’s defensive line.
Although the result favoured Ba, the trial was not about competition points but rather development, learning, and preparation for the season ahead.
Both teams are expected to take key lessons from the match as they continue their pre-season build-up.
