Vilimoni Delasau-coached Ba side is hoping to meet Lautoka in the final Vanua Trophy Challenge next week.

Current holders, Lautoka Maroons would be defending their title against Rewa today at Lawaqa Park and a win for the Maroons would see a re-match of the Vodafone Vanua Cup Championship, where Lautoka defeated Ba in a thrilling final.

“Hopefully Lautoka will win as we have a score to settle against them,” said Delasau. The former Flying Fijians winger said they have been preparing well for the final challenge.

“Our club games would conclude this weekend plus we also played a warm up match against Nadi earlier this week.

“We believe Lautoka will win. The management and coaching staff are rectifying the mistakes we committed against the Maroons in the final of the Vanua Championship,” said Delasau.

Ba Rugby media officer Jay Kautoga added they were prepared to face whoever wins the challenge this weekend, Lautoka or challengers Rewa.

“Both the team’s are very strong and they have experience of playing in the Skipper Cup as well.

“We hope to bring the Vanua Challenge trophy to the Vanua O Ba,” said Kautoga.
