Australian national swimming team makes their way to our shores as the Oceania Swimming competition kicks off.
The Australian head coach, Tracy Menzies Stagbauer has brought a strong team consisting of ten swimmers, hoping to bring tough competition to the games.
Having selected from the Australian Age Championship, the team is seen to be the best representing Australia for the competition.
Progressing from national competition to the regional, team Australia sees the Oceania swimming championship as a platform to exhibit their talents before advancing to World Juniors and World Handpacks next year.
With a very young team taking the stand, their expectations lie not only in splendid performance but also in learning, developing skills, making new connections and good friends.
The five-day competition begins at 10am at the Damoday City Aquatic Centre in Laucala Bay, Suva today.
The heats of the 50m butterfly, 200m freestyle, 100m backstroke, 200m butterfly, 1500m freestyle and 4x50m free relay with the 4x100m medley relay will take place today.
