Australia deports Fijian man after serving time

A FIJIAN man who repeatedly assaulted his partner on different occasions in 2014 and 2017 has been deported back to Fiji by the Australian Government after serving his jail term.

The Australian Associated Press reported that Lemeki Navoto had been fighting to stay in Australia after his visa was revoked in 2017.

At the time, he was serving a nine-month jail term for intentionally causing injury, making threats to kill and destroying property.

Mr Navoto had arrived in Australia in 2000 before fathering three children from his partner.
