Another suspect arrested in relation to 4.8kg meth bust in Nadi

A fifth person has been arrested and charged in connection with the unlawful importation of 4.8 kilograms of methamphetamine seized at the Nadi airport last Friday.

This was done during a joint operation between the Fiji Police Force and the Fiji Revenue and Customs Service.

Police said the 43-year-old accused is alleged to have colluded with the four men already charged and produced in court.

He will be produced at the Nadi Magistrates Court today charged with one count of Unlawful Importation of Illicit Drugs: contrary to section 5(b) of the Illicit Drugs Control Act 2004.

Already charged in this case are suspended police officer Apenisa Matadigo, Viliame Nalago, Are Tania and Nigerian national Chukwuemeka Phabian.
